




George Dewey James was born in Newton County Arkansas on April 7, 1898. He worked in the logging/Saw mill industry, drove school buses, operated county road maintenance equipment and was on the Jasper School Board, all while farming a 60 acre farm. He married his wife Velma Florence Brasel on August 6, 1918. They raised 12 children together and were a true testimony of rural America. He passed away on May 2, 1958
